According to Danieli, the caster will produce slabs in thicknesses of up to 150 mm and in widths between 1,500 mm and 2,100 mm. It will be used to form special grades ranging from carbon to stainless steels and nickel-based alloys.

The AM Industeel caster will feature a variety of Danieli technological packages, including real-time quality assessment, a mold breakout prevention system, advanced mold level control, mold hydraulic oscillator control, dynamic cooling control, dynamic soft reduction, mushy zone detection and cutting process optimization.

The caster will be driven by Danieli Automation electrics and process automation. Start-up is planned for May 2025.
