Danieli Tapped for Rolling Mill Upgrades
06/27/2019 - Peruvian steelmaker Corporacion Aceros Arequipa has awarded a contract to Danieli for two roughing mill stands, part of a second phase of upgrades to the plant.
In a statement, Danieli said the new stands will increase the size of the billets that can be rolled to 160 mm square. The stands also will improve product yield as well as and mill utilization.
The order includes one horizontal stand and one vertical 6548 cartridge-style stand with associated lubrication and hydraulic valves bench.
Danieli Automation will supply the electrical equipment and integrate the level 1 system.
Start-up is planned for the second quarter 2020.
