According to Danieli, the new bar mill is being designed to annually produce 600,000 metric tons of rebar, wire rod and small sections in low- and medium-carbon grades. The mill will be tied to an existing five-strand billet caster that produces 150 mm square billets.
 

The plant will be outfitted with Danieli Morgårdshammar long products rolling technology, which will include 18 SHS+ stands, high-speed bar rolling and delivery onto a cooling bed discharging system, and bundling, stacking and strapping equipment, among other things.
 

Start-up has been scheduled for the end of next summer.
