Danieli Receives Order for Four New Blast Furnaces
08/31/2017 - Danieli Corus has won a contract to build the primary end of a new steel mill in Vietnam.
Danieli said that under the contract, it will build four blast furnaces and supply the supporting equipment for Hoa Phat Group’s planned greenfield mill in Quang Ngai province. Each of the furnaces will have a working volume of 1,080 cubic meters and will be designed to produce 1 million metric tons annually.
"The furnaces will be equipped with the Danieli Corus’ high-conductivity cooling and lining design based on copper plate coolers combined with graphite and silicon carbide refractories," the company said.
The order includes the hot blast mains, bustle mains, tuyere assemblies, level 2 automation systems and pulverized coal injection systems.
Danieli said the four furnaces will be finished and commissioned sequentially. All four are to be put into service in 2019.
Danieli last week said it had been chosen to supply the plant’s casters and rolling mills.
