Danieli Receives Order for Brazilian Cold Mill

According to Danieli, the new cold mill at Waelzholz Brasmetal in São Paulo will produces strip in widths of up to 670 mm and in minimum thicknesses of 0.25 mm.

The mill will feature independently driven work rolls and a unique set of high-torque drive spindles to allow driving both roll sets, Danieli said. Electrics and automation will be provided by Danieli Automation.

“A notable special feature is the dual work rolls to achieve efficient rolling performance,” Danieli said. “One set of work rolls with large diameters will economically cope with heavy-gauge incoming thicknesses and standard products, while another set of work rolls with small diameters will be reserved for special products, to achieve minimum exit thicknesses on high-strength materials.”

Start-up is scheduled for the spring of 2026.
