Danieli Nabs Order for Greenfield Wire Rod Mill

Russia’s Novorossiysk Rolling Plant LLC will build a 600,000-metric-ton wire rod mill using Danieli technology, the equipment supplier reports.
According to Danieli, the new mill will produce low-medium carbon steel coils in 5.5- to 16-mm-diameter rounds as well as 6- to 12- mm-diameter hot/quenched rebar.
Danieli will supply a complete mill technology package, including a 120-metric-ton Danieli Centro Combustion walking beam furnace, 16 SHS housingless stands, two ESS cantilever stands, 10-pass finishing block, water-cooled line, oil-film bearing laying head, a 100-m cooling conveyor and a SundBirsta coil handling system.
The new mill will also feature Danieli Automation process control systems.
The facility will be built on a greenfield site in Shakhty, Rostov Region, Russia. The project is expected to wrap up by the beginning of 2023.
