Danieli Lands Water Treatment Plant Order
03/06/2023 - ArcelorMittal Brazil has placed a follow-on order with Danieli for a water treatment plant that will support a new 400,000-metric-ton medium sections mill.
A brownfield project, the mill is replacing a decommissioned rolling mill at the company’s Barra Mansa site. The new water treatment plant replaces one that served the old rolling mill.
The new plant will feature Danieli’s Zero-Scale Pit design.
“Danieli’s Zero-Scale Pit (ZSP) concept allows a drastic reduction of the civil works, thus construction costs,” Danieli said.
“ZSP is located under the rolling mill to collect water containing rolling mill scale mainly generated during the first rolling steps. It continuously removes the scale from the underground flume, raises it to the mill floor where it is collected in standard skips.”
Start-up is scheduled for the third quarter of 2024.
