Danieli Lands Order for Two Slab Casters
02/23/2023 - Joint-venture steelmaker AM/NS India has contracted Danieli to build two double-strand slab casters for its Hazira works in India, the equipment supplier has announced.
In a statement, Danieli said the casters will be able to produce slabs in thicknesses ranging from 250 mm to 350 mm and in widths of up to 2,200 mm. They will increase the facility’s slab capacity to 6 million metric tons annually.
“The new installation will represent a new benchmark in slab quality, plant efficiency, reliability and maintainability,” Danieli said.
The casters are to enter service by early 2025. AM/NS India is a joint venture of ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel.
