Danieli Lands Order for Nucor-Yamato Reheat Furnace

The equipment, bound for the joint venture’s Blytheville, Ark., USA, beam mill, will reduce the facility’s environmental footprint and enable high repeatability of optimized reheating profiles, Danieli said.

“The new, modern reheating furnace will deliver the best thermal efficiency and minimum environmental impact through a low-carbon footprint and (reduced) NOx emissions,” it said.

The hydrogen-capable reheat furnace will have a capacity of 180 tons per hour and will feature will Danieli-patented Hydro-Mab burners.

“The project will be integrated with existing plant operations in a seamless manner with the latest level 1 and level 2 Danieli Automation control systems. This includes an optimization system that follows reheating practice targets with automatic adjustments of the set points based on the thermal status of the stock, material tracking, and actual mill pacing,” the company said.

The furnace is expected to be operational by the spring of 2025.
