Danieli Corus Receives Order for CSH Blast Furnace Reline

Danieli Corus has received an order from Chile's CAP Acero (Compañía Siderúrgica Huachipato) for design and supply for the reline of its Talcahuano blast furnace No. 2.
This order is a follow-up on the Blast Furnace No. 2 Reline Study that was successfully concluded for CAP Acero earlier this year. The reline study has enabled CAP Acero to make a time and cost effective evaluation of various reline scenarios. The resulting scope includes improved cooling and lining that will meet the requirements for the next blast furnace campaign.
CAP Acero has chosen the "Hoogovens" integrated lining & cooling system for its No. 2 blast furnace which is based upon a lining with graphite and copper plate coolers for maximum durability and longevity. This concept offers the longest campaign life capability at the highest productivity levels while operating on a wide variety of raw materials, as demonstrated by the achievements of the IJmuiden Nos. 6 and 7 blast furnaces at Tata Steel Europe.
