Danieli Automation Merges with Taranis
08/11/2014 - Danieli Group announced the merger of the U.S. division of Danieli Automation (Pittsburgh, Pa.) with independent systems integrator Taranis Inc (Birmingham, Ala.).
The newly formed Danieli Taranis LLC began operating in the North American market on 18 July 2014.
Danieli Taranis will provide electrical engineering and equipment as well as automation and process controls for the metals industry in North America, exploiting the technological capabilities of the HQ of Danieli Automation SpA, Buttrio (Italy).
Danieli Taranis will operate under the leadership of the previous Taranis management team, with Mr. Colin J. Feather serving as president and Mr. William Dow as operations manager. The company will operate from facilities in both Birmingham and Pittsburgh.
The newly formed company is compelling because it has the potential to provide significant value to the market by creating a dynamic, flexible and proactive structure. It will better support the needs of North American steel producers with innovative products and systems on the cutting edge of the technologies such as: LV/MV drives, induction heating systems, special gauges and sensors, advanced process control systems. It will also use its increased footprint to expand valuable support and maintenance services formerly provided by each of the individual companies.
