Danieli: Aperam Mill Slated for Improvements
06/10/2022 - Danieli has been contracted to revamp an Aperam Steckel mill in Brazil, the equipment supplier has said.
In a statement, Danieli said it will be making improvements to the stainless steel maker’s Timoteo plant in Minas Gerais. Improvements will include upgrades to the roughing mill and downcoiler as well as a new Steckel finishing mill and laminar cooling system.
Danieli also will modernize the mill’s process control and automation system.
The project will expand the mill’s product portfolio, allowing it to make electrical, carbon, 410T-grade stainless steel; Inconel 625, Duplex 2101 and 2205, and 3xx- and 4xx-series stainless steels; and oriented and non-oriented silicon steel to thicknesses down to 1.8 mm, Danieli said.
The equipment will be pre-assembled and tested in Danieli workshops prior to shipping, Danieli said. The work is to be completed by 2023.
