Danieli, Tenova Announce Order for Omanese DRI Plant
12/05/2023 - The Jindal Steel Group’s newly established Vulcan Green Steel has ordered a hydrogen-ready Energiron direct reduction plant from Tenova and Danieli.
The plant, to be built in Duqm, in the Al Wusta region of the Sultanate of Oman, will hot charge an electric steelmaking complex. However, it also will be able to produce hot briquetted iron for storage or export.
“The complex will be a hub for the production of green steel, taking advantage of the availability of natural gas and the renewable energies that will be converted into hydrogen,” the companies said.
The plant is to come on-line in 2026.
