Dan DiMicco’s Book "American Made" Due Out on 3 March 2015
02/05/2015 - Dan DiMicco's book, American Made, hits the digital bookshelves early next month.
For DiMicco, a former CEO and now chairman emeritus of Charlotte-based steel producer Nucor Corp. (NYSE:NUE), the book is the next step in his pro-manufacturing mantra.
Long a proponent of making things in this country, DiMicco says the U.S. needs to create jobs, like those in manufacturing, that create tangible wealth. The country can't become a nation of consumers, he says.
DiMicco mentioned the book in October after his talk at a Bosch Rexroth Corp. sales meeting at BB&T BallPark in uptown Charlotte, S.C.
The full title of the book, scheduled to be published on March 3, is American Made: Why Making Things Will Return Us to Greatness. Palgrave Macmillan Trade, which is part of St. Martin's Press, is the book's publisher.
