Curtis Steel Places Order With Red Bud Industries
04/10/2025 - Red Bud Industries announced it has received an order for a precision blanking line, low passline slitter and a packaging line from Houston-based service center Curtis Steel Co. LLC.
According to a press release, the blanking line will process hot-rolled, cold-rolled and galvanized material with the capability of processing up to 50,000-lb. master coils up to widths of 60 inches and thicknesses up to 0.25 inch. It will include Red Bud Industries’ direct drive servo roll feed to produce close tolerance blanks, a cassette-style roller leveler, quick-change blade shear and magazine-style automatic pallet loader. This will allow the line to be set up and changed over quickly with less personnel.
The company said the low passline slitter can process master coils up to 50,000 lbs. with widths up to 60 inches and thicknesses up to 0.075 inch. It will include a tooling exchange system, which allows up to 12 dedicated setups to be stored and used at any time. It also features a double-loop thread system and a dual-mandrel recoiler.
The packaging line will be connected to both the new slitting line and one of Curtis Steel’s existing machines, Red Bud Industries reported. It will feature two fully automatic banding tables, two magazine-style automatic pallet loaders to load skids onto the eight-position sortation table, and an automatic stretch wrapper.
