Core to Supply STC Furnaces for Charter Steel Facility
01/19/2005 - Charter Steel has contracted Core Furnace Systems for turn-key supply of four STC (Short Time Cycle) furnaces at the company’s Rising Sun, Ohio, coil processing and distribution facility. The installation will bring the number of STC furnaces on this site to eight.
Charter Steel has contracted Core Furnace Systems for turn-key supply of four STC (Short Time Cycle) furnaces at the company’s Rising Sun, Ohio, coil processing and distribution facility. The installation will bring the number of STC furnaces on this site to eight.
The energy-efficient 28-tonne batch STC furnaces with be equipped with endothermic gas generators to ensure a consistent gas chemistry, low product variability and superior temperature uniformity. The furnaces will be used for spherodizing and lamellar pearlitic annealing of coiled rod and wire.
Core will also design and supply the complete control and automation package, including Level 1 and Level 2 control systems.
Installation of the new furnaces is expected to be complete by December 2005.
