Core Furnace Systems to Supply Walking Hearth Plate Furnace for Outokumpu
09/30/2008 - Core Furnace will engineer and supply a walking hearth furnace for Outokumpu’s New Castle, Ind., plant.
Core Furnace Systems was recently contracted by Outokumpu to engineer and supply a walking hearth furnace. The furnace will be installed at Outokumpu’s New Castle, Ind., plant where it will be used to heat treat stainless steel plate.
The new fuel-efficient furnace will feature state-of-the-art low NOx burners and a recuperative system. CORE will also design and supply the complete control and automation package, which will feature an advanced Level 1 tracking system.
Delivery of equipment is scheduled to begin during the summer of 2009.
