Consumers Will Pay More for Organic Food. They’ll Probably Do So for Steel, Too.

“Consumers are already practicing sustainable consumption. Because they are concerned about the environment as well as their health, they’re already purchasing organic foods and electric vehicles, so this is already sustainable consumer practice,” said POSCO chairman Chang In-hwa, speaking during a session at the 2024 Global Steel Dynamics Forum.

“A green premium is a must for a sustainable future,” he said through an interpreter.

Co-hosted by the Association for Iron & Steel Technology and World Steel Dynamics, the Global Steel Dynamics Forum is taking place in New York City. The annual conference concludes today.
