Commercial Metals’ New Mill Set for Late Fall Completion
05/09/2017 - Despite having to slog through inordinately wet weather, Commercial Metals Company’s new micro-mill in Oklahoma remains on track for a late fall start-up, executive vice president Tracy Porter said Tuesday.
Speaking on the sidelines of AISTech 2017, which is taking place this week in Nashville, Tenn., USA, Porter said the new mill’s operating team has mostly been selected and construction is “well down the road.”
“Most of the main components are in place,” he said.
In addition to rebar, the scrap-based facility will produce fence post and hot-rolled spooled rebar, becoming the only U.S. mill offering the product, the company has said.
