Commercial Metals Expands Product Lineup Through Acquisition
10/27/2017 - Commercial Metals Company (CMC) has acquired MMFX Technologies Corp., which licenses proprietary rebar grades, for an undisclosed amount.
In an announcement Friday, the company said its steel fabrication unit is acquiring all of the assets of MMFX, which is based in Irvine, Calif., USA.
"MMFX's proprietary products, along with their strong technical staff, will offer our customers an additional range of products and cost effective solutions to suit their specific building requirements. In addition, we believe that CMC's coast-to-coast production capability and distribution network will greatly enhance the reach of the MMFX product line," said Commercial Metals executive vice president Tracy Porter.
MMFX owns and licenses the ChromX line of steel, which is sold as rebar and smooth rounds. The company says the product is stronger and more corrosion resistant than standard rebar.
