Commercial Metals Co. Adds Fence Post Capabilities to New Oklahoma Mill
02/03/2017 - Commercial Metals Co. said it will expand its fence post capacity by adding a new production facility at its new micro-mill in Oklahoma.
"This new post manufacturing facility in Durant, Okla., optimizes our existing post operations and expands our vertical integration model by utilizing low-cost, T-stock raw material from our new micro-mill," said Commercial Metals executive vice president Tracy Porter in a statement.
"It allows us to expand our markets geographically and more efficiently serve our customers in Oklahoma and the Midwest."
Commercial Metals said the new facility will be highly automated. It will continue running its other post manufacturing facilities, which are in Cayce, S.C., San Marcos, Texas, and Brigham City, Utah, USA.
The company’s steel fence post business operates as CMC Southern Post and sells into the agriculture, ranching and construction fencing markets. The new facility is expected to begin shipments in the summer of 2018.
