Commerce Department to Continue Cases on Welded Stainless Pressure Pipe from China
03/17/2008 - The U.S. Department of Commerce will continue its investigations of welded stainless steel pressure pipe imported from China following the U.S. International Trade Commission’s determination that there is a reasonable indication of real or threatened material injury.
The U.S. Department of Commerce will continue to conduct its investigations of welded stainless steel pressure pipe imported from China. The decision follows the U.S. International Trade Commission’s (ITC’s) determination that there is a reasonable indication of real or threatened material injury due to imports of this product from China that are allegedly subsidized and sold in the United States at less than fair value.
All six Commissioners voted in the affirmative.
Petitioners in the case included Bristol Metals, Bristol, Tenn.; Felker Brothers Corp., Marshfield, Wis.; Marcegaglia USA, Inc., Munhall, Pa.; Outokumpu Stainless Pipe, Inc., Schaumburg, Ill.; and The United Steelworkers, Pittsburgh, Pa.
The Department of Commerce’s preliminary countervailing duty determination is due on or about April 24, 2008 Its preliminary antidumping determination due on or about July 8, 2008.
