Columbus Castings to be Put on Auction Block in July
06/16/2016 - Constellation Enterprises LLC, the bankrupt parent of Ohio-based Columbus Castings, is planning to sell the business through an auction after a proposed private sale was called off, reports the Columbus (Ohio) Business First newspaper.
Constellation filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May, and had planned to finalize the sale of Columbus to an undisclosed buyer by June 3. The company, however, has scuttled that plan.
Constellation spokeswoman Jennifer Mercer told the newspaper that other parties have stepped forward and expressed an interest in the business. Therefore, Constellation is pursuing an auction to see if it can’t get a better price for Columbus, she told the newspaper.
The deadline to submit bids has been set for July 11, with an auction scheduled for July 14.
