Sep. 19, 2006 — The Colombian Superintendence of Industry and Commerce has completed its review of Maverick Tube Corp.’s proposed merger with Tenaris SA, and cleared the proposed merger without conditions.

With the merger agreement’s Colombian condition satisfied, the proposed merger has now been cleared by competition authorities in all jurisdictions in which such clearance is a condition precedent to the transaction.

Maverick has scheduled a special meeting on October 2, 2006 for its stockholders to vote on the proposed merger.

Maverick Tube is a St. Louis, Mo., based manufacturer of tubular products in the energy industry for exploration, production, and transmission, as well as industrial tubing products used in various applications.
