Coke Plant on Order at Chinese Steel Works
02/18/2016 - SMS group's Paul Wurth subsidiary will oversee engineering of a coke plant at a new steel works in China, the company has announced.
According to Paul Wurth, the agreement provides for construction of 232 top-charging coke ovens at Shandong Iron & Steel Group's Rizhao Iron & Steel Works along China's east coast. The ovens will be 7.3 meters tall and divided into four jumbo batteries, with 58 ovens apiece, according to Paul Wurth.
The ovens will be the first jumbo Paul Wurth batteries built in China.
The engineering contract arises from a cooperation agreement signed in 2013 by Paul Wurth and Shandong Province Metallurgical Engineering Co. Ltd., the engineering company associated with Shandong Iron & Steel Group.
