CMC Closes Purchase of Nicholas J. Bouras and Affiliates
04/18/2007 - Commercial Metals Co. has completed its acquisition of substantially all the operating assets of Nicholas J. Bouras, Inc., United Steel Deck, Inc., The New Columbia Joist Co., and ABA Trucking Corp. for a purchase price of approximately $146 million.
CMC will combine the acquired assets with CMC Joist. They will operate under the trade name CMC Joist & Deck as part of CMC's Domestic Fabrication segment.
United Steel Deck manufactures steel deck at facilities in South Plainfield, N.J., Peru, Ill., and Rock Hill, S.C. New Columbia Joist manufactures steel joists in New Columbia, Pa., and ABA Trucking Corp. provides delivery services for United Steel Deck and New Columbia Joist.
"This acquisition will add joist manufacturing capacity to meet the needs of our customers in the Northeast and will establish CMC Joist as a manufacturer of steel deck,” commented Murray R.
