CMC Adds Scrap Capacity in Texas
11/16/2022 - Commercial Metals Company (CMC) has acquired a Galveston, Texas, USA, scrap recycler, bringing an additional 55,000 tons of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap under its roof.
In a statement, the company said most of the obsolete ferrous grades processed by Kodiak Resources are grades consumed by CMC’s long products mills.
“The transaction is expected to enhance the security and supply of competitively priced inputs to CMC's steelmaking operations,” the company said.
The deal follows CMC’s September announcement that it has acquired a California scrap processor to help support its new micro-mill in Arizona.
