CMC Acquires Two Tennessee Scrap Yards
03/06/2023 - Commercial Metals Company (CMC) is expanding its internal scrap supply, announcing Friday that it has acquired the assets of Tennessee metals recycler Roane Metals Group.
According to CMC, Roane operates two facilities in the state and is capable of processing 85,000 tons of ferrous and non-ferrous metals annually. Most of the scrap it collects consists of obsolete ferrous grades consumed by its long products mills, CMC said.
“The acquired assets are expected to enhance the security and supply of competitively priced inputs to CMC’s steelmaking operations,” the steelmaker said in a statement.
