CMC Acquires Cherokee Supply

July 19, 2006 — Commercial Metals Co. announced the acquisition of substantially all of the operating assets of Cherokee Supply. Established in 1998 with facilities in Tulsa, Okla., and Little Rock, Ark., Cherokee Supply specializes in highway and commercial construction-related products.
The two stores will become part of CMC Construction Services and will operate under the name of CMC Cherokee. Brothers Tom and Charlie Brown, along with their sister Kasey, were the previous owners of Cherokee Supply. Tom and Charlie will continue to manage the businesses in Tulsa and Little Rock, respectively, while Kevin Ruesch will assume area management responsibilities for both locations.
