CMC Acquires Assets of Rebar Services and Supply Company
04/30/2008 - Commercial Metals Co. completes its acquisition of the operating assets of Rebar Services and Supply Co. of Fort Worth, Texas.
Commercial Metals Co. has completed its acquisition of substantially all the operating assets of Rebar Services and Supply Co. (RSS) of Fort Worth, Texas.
RSS is a rebar fabricator that services the North Texas area. Established in 1982, the company employs approximately 30 people.
"The addition of RSS to the CMC Rebar group will allow us to expand our presence in the growing North Texas market,” said Russ Rinn, CMC Executive Vice President and CMC Americas President. “The company has an outstanding team in place and a strong reputation in the marketplace, which we have witnessed through our business relationship of over 20 years. We are excited to have the RSS team join CMC."
The acquired assets will operate under the new name of CMC Rebar as part of CMC's Americas Fabrication and Distribution segment.
Irving, Texas, based Commercial Metals Co. and subsidiaries manufacture, recycle and market steel and metal products, related materials, and services through a network including steel minimills, steel fabrication and processing plants, construction-related product warehouses, a copper tube mill, metal recycling facilities, and marketing and distribution offices in the United States and in strategic international markets.
