Cliffs Natural Resources Restarts Wabush Scully Iron Ore Mine in Eastern Canada
07/03/2013 - Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. announced that it has restarted its Wabush Scully mine that was temporarily idled due to the forest fires in the region since 28 June.
The town of Wabush rescinded their emergency evacuation order and reduced the threat level back to an evacuation alert. Cliffs called back workers on Monday, 1 July, and the Scully mine is now fully operational.
During the natural disaster, Cliffs employees stabilized and protected the mining operation.
