Chinese Steelmaker Bids on Serbian Mill

04/05/2016 - China's Hebei Iron & Steel Group has submitted a US$52.2 million offer for a nationalized steel mill in Serbia, according to Reuters news service.

Serbia put its money-losing Zelezara Smederevo mill on the sales block in March, after having acquired it from U.S. Steel in 2012. Hebei was the only bidder for the mill, Reuters said.
