Chinese Steelmaker Accepts New Continuous Caster
03/17/2016 - China’s Hebei Puyang Iron and Steel Co. Ltd. has signed the final acceptance certificate for its new single-strand slab caster, according to the equipment manufacturer.
According to the manufacturer, SMS group, the continuous caster will allow for an expanded range of higher value types of slabs, including peritectic microalloyed and high-strength steels and high-carbon, boron-alloy and pipeline grades.
Working closely with the company, SMS said it designed the caster so that it could be integrated into the existing bay, using the available cranes.
