Chinese Mills Begin Beefing Up Scrap Infrastructure
05/18/2018 - As China’s electric arc furnace capacity rises, Chinese steel mills are subsequently investing in scrap processing equipment, reports the Reuters news service.
According to Reuters, the conditions are ripe for such investments.
“With profit margins as high as 1,000 yuan a tonne due to higher metal prices, and shredders costing 5 million yuan, mills can get their money back within months,” Reuters reported, citing interviews with executives.
