China Steel Corp. Selects Primetals Technologies To Undertake Decarbonization Study
10/19/2023 - Primetals Technologies announced it has received an order for a decarbonization study from China Steel Corp. (CSC), with the aim to reduce carbon emissions at its Kaohsiung site in Taiwan.
China Steel Corp. aims to reduce its CO2 emissions by 25% by 2030, with the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.
“We are extremely excited to support CSC with this initiative for what is a critical activity in their long-term business planning,” said Martin Smith, business development director, Asia Iron & Steelmaking for Primetals Technologies.
Part of Primetals Technologies’ study will examine possible operational enhancements for the blast furnace/basic oxygen furnace steelmaking route.
