China Exported Less Steel in 2016 -- About 4 Million Fewer Metric Tons
01/13/2017 - China’s steel exports fell 3.5 percent in 2016 as the country executed on plans to curtail capacity and as improved domestic demand diverted supply, reports the Reuters news service.
However, the country still exported a lot of steel during the year – 108.46 million tons, Reuters said. In 2015, the country exported a record 112.4 million metric tons.
