China Expands Carbon Trading Program to Include Steel

09/10/2024 - China’s steel, aluminum and cement producers will be added to the country’s national carbon trading market, the Bloomberg news service reports.

According to Bloomberg, the market currently covers about 2,200 power utilities. However, low carbon prices and taxes have mitigated it effectiveness, Bloomberg said.
