China, Zimbabwe to Partner on US$1B Steel Mill
06/11/2018 - Chinese and Zimbabwean leaders have signed a memorandum of understanding for a 2-million-metric-ton-per-year steel plant, reports Xinhua, China’s state news agency.
According to Xinhua, the US$1 billion agreement was one of several signed at the start of a four-day economic meeting between the two countries.
Che Jun, secretary of Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, said the province is looking to invest in Zimbabwe as part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
