Changes in Tata Steel Senior Management

Tata Steel recently announced a change in its senior management. The following moves are effective from April 1, 2010:
 
  • Anand Sen, Vice President (TQM & Flat Products), is appointed as Vice President (TQM & Shared Services)
  • A M Misra, Vice President (Raw Materials & CSI), will become Vice President (CSI & IR)
  • Om Narayan, Vice President (Shared Services), is appointed Vice President (Special Projects)
  • Partha Sengupta, Vice President (Corporate Services), will be Vice President (Raw Materials)
  • Hridayeshwar Jha, Vice President (Safety & Long Products), will become Vice President (Orissa Project)
  • T V Narendran is appointed as Vice President (Safety & Flat Products)
  • Sanjeev Paul, on his return from JUSCO, is appointed Vice President (Corporate Services)
  • Bimalendra Jha, Principal Executive Officer, MD’s Office, will become Vice President (Long Products).
Arun Baijal, Group Director (Global Mineral Resources), and B K Singh, Vice President (Orissa project), plan to retire as of April 1, 2010.
 
Baijal, one of the senior-most members of the Tata Steel Management team, played a pivotal role of ensuring raw material security for the Tata Steel Group by creating and nurturing the Global Mineral Resources organization, the company says. In his role as Group Director, Baijal ensured a global footprint for Tata Steel in this area through global acquisitions and joint ventures. He has served the company for more than 39 years.        
 
Singh held many different roles in the company before taking on his current role. In the Orissa project, he has enabled the start of construction work in Kalinganagar. Prior to this position, he was the main force behind the successful creation and operation of Hooghly Metcoke and Power Company Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel.
