Centro Combustion to Supply New Walking Beam Reheating Furnace to Jayaswal Neco
07/10/2012 - Indian steelmaker Jayaswal Neco Industries has awarded Danieli Centro Combustion Furnaces a contract to design and supply a new walking beam furnace for reheating billets and blooms.
Indian steelmaker Jayaswal Neco Industries Ltd. has awarded Centro Combustion Furnaces Pvt. Ltd., part of the Danieli Group, Pune, India, a contract to design and supply a new walking beam furnace for reheating billets and blooms.
The new furnace will be installed at Siltara near Raipur and commissioned in just 16 months from the order date. It will feed J Jayaswal Neco’s new 400,000 tonnes per annum bar, rounds and section mill, which is to be engineered and supplied by Danieli Morgardshammar.
Flexibility will be the key ingredient for this project, as the furnace will be able to reheat a wide variety of billets and blooms (with sections ranging from 130x130mm to 340x400mm), with different steel grades including low, medium & high carbon steel, alloy steel, ball bearing steel, spring steel, and stainless steel.
The dual-fuel combustion system will operate on producer gas and heavy fuel oil, with a design framework optimized for low energy consumption thanks to high preheating of both producer gas and combustion air with additional oxygen enrichment.
