CELSA France Fires Up New Reheating Furnace From Fives
03/22/2022 - Fives announced last week that the ultralow-emission reheating furnace, which has a capacity of 120 metric tons per hour, was started up at the brand-new wire rod mill at CELSA Group’s new complex in the New Aquitain region in France.
The complex specializes in the production of steel billets from the recovery of scrap. According to Fives, the new Stein Digit@l Furnace® is the first walking beam furnace for billet reheating that has been installed in France in the last 40 years. It is designed to charge hot billets of different sections and lengths directly from the caster at 800°C.
The furnace features digital on/off control and heat curve control and is equipped with AdvanTek® central wide-flame burners.
