Canada to Implement 25% Tariff on Chinese Steel
08/26/2024 - Taking a cue from the United States and Europe, Canada announced Monday that it will impose a 25% tariff on Chinese steel, as well as Chinese aluminum and electric vehicles produced in the country.
“Actors like China have chosen to give themselves an unfair advantage in the global marketplace, compromising the security of our critical industries and displacing dedicated Canadian autos and metal workers,” said Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, according to the Bloomberg news service.
