The company has issued a call for pitches as part of its Accelerator Program, which aims to connect innovators with funding and ArcelorMittal’s expertise.

Steel can make a huge contribution to the decarbonization of the global economy, and at ArcelorMittal, we are committed to leading our industry’s efforts, and to accelerate the speed of our progress. Advancing the development of the technologies and processes which are pivotal to our industry’s transition is a very important element of this," said ArcelorMittal chief executive Aditya Mittal. 

ArcelorMittal said the fund already has committed US$180 million to four companies working on renewable energy, long-term energy storage, carbon recycling and green hydrogen technologies.
