Calderys Greenfield Project Progresses

“With CAPES advancing rapidly, we are on track to deliver world-class refractory solutions while reinforcing our commitment to safety, quality and efficiency,” said Satyendra Kumar, director, industrial operations and projects, Southwest Asia.

The company said the investment will be made up of five production lines to deliver refractory solutions and steel casting fluxes. They estimate it will enhance local production capabilities, supporting its fast growth and reducing reliance on imports.

Calderys said the facility is designed to operate mostly on solar energy and green fuel. It incorporates a dust control infrastructure, a rainwater harvesting system, and a zero-water discharge approach including sewage and effluent treatment plant. They estimate it will retain 33% green cover on its premises.

“This milestone is helping us strengthen our leadership in the global refractory market. And this is only the beginning — the foundation for even greater ambitions, with more exciting developments on the horizon,” said Ish Mohan Garg, senior vice president of the Asia Pacific region of Calderys.

The company said production is expected to begin by the second half of 2025.
