Butech Bliss and Nelson Steel Consulting & Technology Supply Push-Pull Pickling Line to Processor in Monterrey, Mexico

Butech Bliss and Nelson Steel Consulting & Technology Group have teamed up and provided a mill duty, 0.500” (12.7mm) by 72” (1,828mm) push-pull pickling line, project coordination, start-up, commissioning and training services to a major steel processor in Monterrey, Mexico. The line features a Butech Bliss Hydraulic Leveler, Nelson’s “Turbo Tunnel” turbulent pickling system that reduces evaporation, heat loss and acid consumption, five stage spray Rinse Tank, single stage Wash Tank, Fume system, Water Treatment system and an electrostatic oiler. This line will enhance outgoing material flatness and provide consistent product shape, superior surface quality and a consistent, uniform protective oil coating for the end users receiving product off of the line.

The leveler is designed to deliver 680 horsepower. The combination of high horsepower delivery and the ability to create inter-roll tension as a result of the individually driven work rolls maximizes the amount of plastic work generated by the leveler. The end result is superior strip flatness and low residual internal stresses within the processed material.

On 3 September the first pickled coils were produced on this new pickling line.
