According to PSI Metals, the software covers production and quality tracking, line scheduling, and material tracking with level 1 integration and SAP integration. It also unifies the hot rolling area’s manufacturing execution software with that of the meltshop. 

“The biggest achievement with the new solution was the possibility to have control and standardization of processes. PSI Metals experts are professionals with great knowledge about steelmaking processes, which made the work much easier and avoided many problems during the project,” said Carlos Tempesta, Villares Metals’ digital transformation manager. “They contributed a lot by suggesting improvements that even we did not know how to execute.”
