BRAUN Maschinenfabrik to Supply Hyundai Steel with Four Billet Grinding Machines
08/07/2014 - BRAUN Maschinenfabrik will supply Hyundai Steel with four high-pressure surface billet grinding machines.
After a completed expansion for high-grade products for automotive applications at its Dangjin integrated steel mill, South Korean steelmaker Hyundai Steel now is now investing in downstream equipment.
In connection with this increase in capacity, BRAUN Maschinenfabrik, a specialist for high performance cut-off machines and high-pressure surface grinding machines, has been awarded a contract to supply four high-pressure surface grinding machines, type HP 6, for bright, edge and fault grinding of billets including additional material handling and automation equipment.
The maximum billet cross section will be 200 x 200 mm and the maximum length 12 m. Starting from the infeed roller table up to the take-over devices after the grinding machine, all processes can be done automatically, controlled and monitored. The BRAUN billet grinding equipment will start operation in the fourth quarter of 2015.
