Bradbury Introduces Portable Decoiler for Containerized Roll Former
12/16/2014 - A newly designed BMS powered portable decoiler from the Bradbury Group has been utilized in a recent containerized standing seam line.
For a conventional containerized machine, the infeed system is always a matter of concern. For optimum performance the decoiler of a containerized machine should be operator friendly and easy to pack away for transportation.
The new BMS portable decoiler has a 5000 kg capacity with hydraulic expansion and uses a SEW gear motor for rotation. The decoiler is stored inside of the container during transportation on a fixed section of track. When on site, a movable portion of the decoiler track is lowered out of the container door, draw bridge style, using an electric hoist mounted to the side. There are two outriggers installed on the track base that are set to support the cantilevered track under the weight of the decoiler. The decoiler track is made of I-beam rails and the four wheels mounted on the decoiler run inside one half of the section. This provides support and guidance when moving the decoiler in or out of the container. This process takes an operator less than one minute to complete.
