BlueScope Announces AU$415 Million Investment in Metal Coating Capacity
08/14/2023 - Australia’s BlueScope has received board approval for an AU$415 million (US$268 million) expansion of metal coating capacity at its Erskine Park, NSW, facility.
The company said in a press release that the additional metal coating line (MCL7) will have the capacity to produce up to 240 ktpa of its value-added, metal-coated products, which include ZINCALUME® steel, TRUECORE® steel, and feed for COLORBOND® steel products.
“The additional metal-coated production capacity will … give us greater capability and enhanced flexibility to deliver the levels of service that our customers expect of us,” BlueScope’s managing director and chief executive Mark Vassella said.
Pending approvals, the project is expected to be operational by the end of 2025.
