Bloom Engineering Establishes Steel-Specific Sales Team
07/31/2017 - Industrial combustion and controls engineer Bloom Engineering is reorganizing its sales team, creating a unit that will focus specifically on the steel industry.
The steel team will be headed by Scott Brown, who previously worked for a furnace OEM. The company said he brings a depth of knowledge and steelmaking experience, with a particular focus on processing lines such as galvanizing and annealing, to the position.
Bloom also is creating an aluminum-specific sales team that will be headed by Don Whipple, who has a long background in combustion and in the design, commissioning and repair of aluminum production systems.
“Scott and Don bring a tremendous wealth of experience in their respective segments of steel and aluminum; the new sales structure should help us spread their specific application knowledge within the group, and more importantly to our customers,” said Michael Black, vice president of sales.
Also, the company has announced that Matt Valancius has been promoted to director of marketing and after-sales support. Valancius holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from University of Pittsburgh and has spent 12 years with Bloom.
“He ably led the marketing group immediately prior to the promotion. His expanded role will allow for a cohesive approach to aftermarket activities for a smoother customer experience,” the company said.
